One last trip to Indy before Christmas

The girls and I made one last trip to Indy last weekend. J stayed at home to get some work done...he had been there just 2 weeks before to hunt. It would have been 7 weeks since we'd seen them if we'd just waited until Christmas and no one likes to go that long! Mom and I were able to do a little shopping together while Dad graciously offered to stay home with the girls. We did take Mia with us because it snowed and they wouldn't have been able to play in it if she'd have been there. Morgan and Mollie were SOOOO excited to go sledding since they hardly ever have much snow to play in.
These were snowman pancakes that Grandma made for the girls.
Here is a video of the girls sledding down my parent's driveway. Dad stood at the bottom so he could watch for cars coming!

I made the girls pose by this tree at church Sunday.

Santa's call

Morgan got a phone call from Santa tonight. I was expecting it (since I'd filled out the form), however I had turned it in late so I wasn't sure if he'd still call. She had been in bed for about 20 minutes, but I figured she'd still be awake. She just kept repeating, "yes...yes...yes" and her eyes would get big and then her mouth would fall open, I guess as he talked about getting to work on the specific things she's asked for and as he talked about her sisters. Then she handed the phone to me, but never told him goodbye. I hung up, only to find out that he had wanted to talk to Mollie too. She was too speechless to tell me that! She just kept saying, "was that the real Santa?". This may have been just what she needed this year....she's at that age where she's asking a LOT of questions and starting to wonder.....

Thanksgiving

We have returned from a long weekend in Birmingham for Thanksgiving. I got a little shopping done but couldn't take full advantage of the Friday deals due to a Herring family picture at 10am! Obviously, I didn't schedule the time. Jason's mom and I headed out around 5:15 and were back by 8am to get cleaned up for the pictures. We were at a beautiful park (but it was a cloudy, gloomy day) but I felt like I was constantly getting on to the girls about running, climbing, etc in their dresses. We weren't exactly dressed to "play" at the park!
Most pictures turned out okay but Mia was tired and wouldn't smile for anything! Here are a few from my camera....I haven't seen the real proofs yet!

This is J's cousin Bryan and his wife Jenny's youngest daughter, Megan, who is 5 months older than Mia.
Lots of smiles from Mia later in the weekend ....just not while wearing red for card pictures!!
I know I shouldn't do this, but they hardly ever all take a bath together anymore. I made everyone cover any private parts!

Some random pictures

The girls (during the sleepover) were making bracelets. Notice that it was about 10pm...check out Mollie's face. She was determined to hang with the big girls!

Daddy performed a magic show for the girls. As you can tell by their faces, they LOVED it!

Here is Mollie sitting with her class ready to perform for the Thanksgiving feast!

My beautiful girls!

Morgan's HSM cake for the family party!

Emma and Morgan were holding hands apparantly and Emma fell asleep watching HSM. This was around 10:30 and the room was dark.

Morgan's best friends!

Maggie Moos party

Morgan had one of the coolest birthday parties with her friends last Friday at Maggie Moos.
Each girl got to go back to the frozen slab and mix together whatever topping they wanted in their ice cream.

Here is the group of girls posing with Maggie the cow!

The girls also got to go back and make a batch of Chocolate Better Batter ice cream! Since ice cream is Morgan's favorite food, this party was right up her alley. Thank you Jason for coming up with such a neat idea!

Amazing!

We went today for Mia's 4 month appointment. I knew she was a little chunk, but didn't realize just how much. She weighed 16lbs 12oz!!!!! My other girls were just 15.6 and 15.1 at this same age! No more kids for us...they just keep getting bigger! You hear of those kids who can't turn the carseat around when they turn 1 because they don't yet weigh 20lbs....we'll be there by 6 months!!!

Heavy wetter!

I just had to share what we find nearly every morning. This picture was the worst morning, but almost every morning the bed and her pajamas are a little wet. Obviously, we had to go straight to the bathtub that morning! Neither Morgan nor Mollie ever did this. The dr told me to double up her diaper at night and put a bigger size on top of her normal size! We're trying that tonight!
