Another field trip and special dress up days

Mollie and 3 friends were being used as examples for what a plant needs to grow. There was the sun, water, pot/soil and Mollie was the seed that needed to grow!

Mollie was supposed to dress us as a farmer this day and baby pigs and bunnies visited their classroom.
On Friday, they had a Sock Hop in celebration of the spring testing being over...

Field trips

I want to start by saying that this is what I get for missing Mollie's snack day! I am very visual so I like to have the calendar on the side of the fridge or as soon as I read it, I have to go write it on our home calendar. Somehow this month, I forgot her day. A few days later when I realized it, I apologized to her teacher and said I'd send something in the next day. She then asked me if I'd do an insect snack since they were studying them that week! These are my little butterflies made from celery, pb, raisins and pretzels! Cute, but very time consuming....so much for the easy granola bars I usually send!

Mollie's class on her field trip to the Nature Sanctuary... she is in the front row on the far right!
...Mollie studying a bee in the hive!
...listening to a bee story. Notice the size difference between her and the others sitting around her!

Morgan's book signing

We are very proud of Morgan! She wrote a little piece that first her teacher submitted 5 from her class into a county-wide contest. Students grades K-12 from all over the county could enter for this Handprints On My Heart book. Her writing was chosen and published in this book so she was invited to go to a book signing for it and actually signed between 50-100 books. She insisted on wearing this dress and was SO excited about it!

This is Mrs. Essary, her 2nd grade teacher.
Me and my big girl!
This was the only other girl from 2nd grade at her school that was in the book too!

Easter 2010

Mia and I went to school to help with the Kindergarten Easter egg hunt and Mia just had to sit with Mollie's class.

Mollie and Mia are in the front left making silly faces with her class.
These are our good friends that moved to Chattanooga 2 years ago. Morgan and Corbin are 3 days apart, Mollie and Cecily are 3 months apart and Mia and Channing are about a year apart. We loved seeing them at church Easter sunday!

Mia wanted NO part of the Easter bunny. Our church hunt had to moved inside because of the rain!

Spring Break in Destin

We had a great week in Destin with my parents and Jason't mom joined us the last couple days as well. Here are the girls before dinner one night in coordinating outfits!

Mia was eating an ice cream cone and I said to show me her messy mouth... It was a chilly day and we'd been shopping so we were trying to do something fun for the girls!

Our first day there was less than 60 degrees and VERY windy so we found a playground. We loved these purple flowers!
Mia loving the slides that she could do by herself!
...on the tire swing

We rented bikes this day until it started raining. We even road to dinner at Applebee's that night and home in the dark!
Mia loved it and especially wearing her helmet...but she fell asleep sitting up!!Mia always wanted Jason to take her out to the water...
...the girls playing in the sand...
The first night that Jane was there we ate at a place where the side window/ doors were open to the ocean!

...before dinner another night

Winterfest

Every January/early February, the girls' school has Winterfest which is a big school-wide fundraiser with carnival games, inflatables, face painting, etc. It is crazy, but the kids LOVE it.
Here is Morgan getting her face painted with her friend Hannah looking on...

Mollie's finished unicorn...
...waiting in line for the colored hair spray. I wish I would have taken a picture of the girls' hair after it was sprayed. Mollie's was dark purple and Morgan's had green, orange and purple stripes!!! It took several washed to get it all out!
